That’s a great idea about gift giving. I especially like the #5: Investing in someone’s health, to encourage a healthy lifestyle. The benefit will last for a long time. Thanks for sharing.

  2. All of these are great ideas especially the one about investing in others talent. A persons support goes a long way.

This post is right on time as I still have yet to buy any gifts LOL Now I just need to find what books align with my loved ones’ goals and interests!

  5. here’s what i would like to give and receive. your presence. if we’re friends i would like to see your smiling face for a few laughs and a few drinks or something to eat. come over, my treat! live out of town? pick up the phone and call your friend or family member.

    • You are so right Freddy. Our happiest childhood holidays memories are not about opening gifts, they are about hanging out and playing, dancing and eating with our cousins and friends.

  6. Excellent ideas about giving in so many different ways. I especially like the ideas about investing in knowledge and health. Thanks for joining our chain. #actsofkindness

  7. Such great ideas in all of your categories! I love how the gifts truly ‘keep on giving’. Thanks for the ideas!

  8. I really liked this post. I donate or try to do something to help others whenever I can. The whole reason I started a blog was to help people on a massive scale. I have heard of Kiva and I am for any organization that let’s people help not only themselves but their communities. Some excellent work here. I know I’m inspired. I’m on Kiva’s website now.

    Thanks,
    GBM

What a warm hearted article :)! I’ve always found that giving is the greatest feeling in the world.

I agree that mixing business and family is often risky and your way of considering it a gift is just amazing. This way there’s no risk, just a chance to give someone a chance at success. Wonderful! By the way, the Kiva link is not working.

I’ve started buying (useful) gifts for family members and friends for some time and it’s always a great pleasure to be able to give. I have also recently started helping strangers just because I can and it feels like nothing else. Thank you for reminding us what life is really about.

  10. It’s a shame you don’t have a donate button! I’d certainly donate to this outstanding blog!
I suppose for now i’ll settle for book-marking and adding your RSS feed to my Google account.
I look forward to fresh updates and will share this site with my Facebook group.
